2016 Municipal Election
Casting your ballot in our state is an important civic duty. You are given this great privilege to voice your opinions and beliefs about what you want from your government. When you participate and vote you are expressing the ideas of liberty and freedom that was fought for many years ago by our forefathers. It is everyone's right to be active participants in this democratic process of elections. Whether it is for local offices, state or federal, your VOTE is the most important part of the process.
Notice will be given on July 5, 2016 that on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, an election for the purpose of electing a Mayor, City Council District Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 are to be elected at the election for the City of Vincent, which will be held, and that all registered and qualified electors of the state, who reside within the corporate limits of the City of Vincent, and have resided therein for 30 days or more immediately preceding the date of the election, and who have registed with the Shelby Co. Board of Registers will be authorized to participate in said election by filing the appropriate forms and paying any appropriate fees, as otherwise provided by law. Candidates may begin qualifying once notice is published (July 5, 2016). July 19th is the last day to qualify to run for municipal office; the qualifying form must be filed by 5:00 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) with the Municipal Clerk.
NOTE: State of Candidacy, Statement of Economic Interest and your Qualification Fees and/or Affidavit of Indigence must be filed to qualify to run for municipal office.
